Vanni Cuoghi graduated in Painting Decoration from Istituto Statale d’Arte di Chiavari (Ge) and got a degree in Scenography from Brera Art Academy in Milan
Between 1989 ad 1992 he worked as an illustrator for different Italian magazines and attended Disney Academy
Until 2002 he decorated and frescoed interiors and exteriors of different churches and palaces, reinterpreting great baroque decoration elements
Among public exhibitions: Allarmi (2004) curated by Norma Magione, Ivan Quaroni, Alessandro Trabucco, Irina Zucca Alessandrelli at Caserma de Cristoforis in Como Sirene (2004) curated by Alessandro Trabucco, a Galata del Mare Museum in Genoa
In 2006 Maurizio Sciaccaluga invited him at Ars in Fabula at Palazzo Pretorio in Ceraldo (Florence)…
The following year he was finalist to the Cairo Prize, at Palazzo della Permanente in Milano and Fabbri Prize at Fondazione del Monte in Bologna
He is part of the art exhibition Arte Italiana 1968-2007 by Vittorio Sgarbi and he is included as well in Laborario Italia, a book by Ivan Quaroni published by Johan & Levi Milan Town Council selected one of his painting for summer events logo
In 2008 he frescoed the entire facade of the Santa Caterina’s church in Genoa with stories from the life of the Saint
The same year he participate in the 4th edition of Allarmi art show in Como He shows also at Frieze Art Fair in London
He is present at Saint Petersboug Biennale (Russia) in section curated by Enzo Fornaro and he shows at Beijing 2008 -Artathlos –in China at the Hidian Exhibition Center In Shangh he shows at collective exhibit Masters of Brera at Liu Haisu Museum
In 2009 he is joining Italian Newbrow Group curated by Ivan Quaroni at 4th edition of Prague Biennale (Czech Repubblic) and at Biennale Giovani at Serrone of Villa Reale in Monza Como council selected images from some of his works to use in the adverting campaign launch Ex-Co event
In 2010 he is invited by Mimmo Di Marzio to Ex Novo exhibit at the headquarter of Akros Bank in Milan and one of his paintings is printed on a limited edition bag by Henry Cotton’s for the Vogue Fashion’s Night Out
In the same year he participates in the exhibition Attention! Border Crossing at the Contemporary Art Museum of Permm (Russia)
In 2011 the artist is included in the Italian Newbrow book by Ivan Quaroni, published by Giancarlo Politi Editor, he show at the exhibition Nuovo Profilo Italiano at Area B spase in Scope Art Fair of New York He is finalist at Maretti Prize at Pecci Museum of Prato
During Salone del Mobile, at Bianconi Gallery in Milan, he presents 12 majolica plates decorated from Gatti workshop from Faenza This was a four-handed project with Chef Davide Oldani
He participate in the 54th International Art Exhibition of Biennale di Venezia at the Italian Pavillion at Corderie dell’Arsenale, invited by Matteo Ramon Arevalos, curated by Vittorio Sgarbi
The same year he shows as solo public exhibition Novus Malleus Maleficarum in the San Pietro in Atrio church and at the Pinacoteca (picture gallery)
In Feb 2012 in the same Pinacoteca di Como, he shows together with all the Italian Newbrow group in an exhibition curated by Ivan Quaroni
The same year he created 8 big boards for Costa Fascinosa Cruise Ship and a set of 16 majolica plates in collaboration with Gatti workshop from Faenza
He is invited by Luca Beatrice to participate in the exhibition Popism 63rd edition of Michetti Prize in Francavilla al Mare
In July he shows with Italian Newbrow group in the public exhibition at Forte di Marmi’s Fort, curated by Ivan Quaroni, who invites him to participate in the Biennale Italy- China at Villa Reale in Monza
In November he participate is the exhibition Homo Faber at Castello Sforzesco in Milan, invited by Mimmo Di Marzio
