On October 15, 2026, the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera will host 100 Years of Alik, an international conference dedicated to Alik Cavaliere on the centennial of the artist’s birth.
Organized by the Alik Cavaliere Art Center and curated by Angela Vettese, the conference aims to reexamine not only the work of Alik Cavaliere but also the human, intellectual, and artistic context that made Milan one of Europe’s leading hubs for contemporary art in the post-World War II era.
Through the figure of the artist, 100 Years of Alik offers a reflection on the generations of artists, architects, critics, philosophers, gallery owners, and writers who helped redefine the very concept of contemporaneity.
The conference is part of the program of celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the Brera Academy of Fine Arts and will bring together some of Italy’s most authoritative scholars.
The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
